Blog Info

I have now added two foreign exchange items to the bottom of the page.

An American dollar exchange rate panel in the bottom left of the page lists how much several currencies are currently worth in the US Dollar.  This dollar panel includes a couple of currencies that no longer exist, but the way the Euro is going they might make a return.  Anyhow, I cannot remove these dead currencies from the panel.

A Foreign exchange currency converter panel is now in the bottom right of the page.  These rates are not updated by the minute, there is a delay, but I compared them to the rates posted on the BBC, and they were accurate and up to date.

The rates posted will be different from the exchange rates posted in banks, forex shops, travel agents, etc. which are usually tourist rates where they can be as much as 30 cents difference between the buy and sell prices.

The currency converter allows you to convert an existing currency into one of the dead European currencies such as the Punt or vice versa.  This is useful when you want to work out what an amount in an existing currency would have been worth in an old currency or vice versa.

If you click on the title in either panel you will open a website in another window, this website has more foreign exchange information.
